Tyler Reddick was the fastest in opening Xfinity Series practice on a rainy Friday at Watkins Glen International, the only JRM driver to take time during the session.

Elliott Sadler, driver No. 1 Textron Off Road Wildcat XX team

"Our Textron Off Road Wildcat XX team decided to not practice today with the weather. Tomorrow is going to be dry, so we wouldn’t have gotten a good feel for the handling of our Chevrolet, and we wanted to save tires. We’ll use our notes from last year to get ready for tomorrow. Kevin (Meendering, crew chief) and the guys have done great work all season long. I know they’ll have us ready and competitive for this weekend’s race."

Michael Annett, driver No. 5 TMC Transportation team

"Since today’s weather should be much different than tomorrow, our team chose not to practice today. We’ve had good runs on road courses in the past, finishing second last year at Road America, so we have a pretty good idea of how we should set up our TMC Transportation Chevrolet. I’m looking forward to getting on track tomorrow and running strong for our partners."

“Today we opted not to go out during practice. It’s just a matter of risk versus reward and conditions are supposed to be different than they are today. We had a fast Chevy here last year. These guys have done a fantastic job all year long of preparing really fast race cars and I feel like from past history, how we’ve unloaded, we’ve got a BRANDT Professional Agriculture Camaro that is capable of running up front and hopefully leading some laps and ultimately winning.”

“It was good to go out and get some laps in with our Nationwide Children’s Hospital Chevrolet even though it was in the rain. I feel like we got a good understanding of the track and the good news is I know I can drive a lot harder tomorrow in the dry conditions. It’ll be an interesting race. I’m looking forward to it for sure.”
