MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 2, 2020) – In the one and only race on dirt this season in the eNASCAR Heat Pro League, the JR Motorsports duo of Tyler Dohar (XBox) and Joe Gornick (PS4) both finished in the top 10 on wild night on the virtual Eldora Speedway. It was the opening round of Segment 3 for the teams.

Dohar, who had won the only race he’d ever run on the legendary half-mile oval, had his work cut out for him after qualifying 11th. Making the decision to let the field sort itself out at the start, Dohar waited to begin his climb toward the front.

The low line seemed to be the only line in which drivers could make time, and it required patience to complete a pass. Dohar eased his way to seventh spot by the time the first caution waved, and narrowly avoided another spin soon after the green flag reappeared. From there, Dohar latched his Good Humor Chevrolet Silverado to the back bumper of Justin Brooks and rose through the field, eventually landing in third place. With 10 laps to go, a technical problem occurred and the race was halted at that point with Dohar a solid third. It was the second straight top-five finish for the Ohio native.

Matthew Selby won the race, with Brooks, Dohar, Daniel Buttafuoco and Slade Gravitt rounding out the top five.

Gornick, the Pennsylvania driver, started 11th as well in the PS4 nightcap and moved up and down the order for most of the 90-lap event. At the end, Gornick’s BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet was half a straightaway in front of winner Brandyn Gritton when the checkered flag waved and he finished 10th. As in the XBox event, the low groove was the way to go and Gornick was forced to follow. Gritton was followed by Kyle Arnold, Cody Giles, Josh Harbin and Josh Parker.

With the points reset after the end of Segment 2, Dohar is now third in the XBox ranks, and Gornick is 10th among PS4 drivers.

The eNASCAR Heat Pro League returns to action on July 8 (Wednesday) at the virtual Auto Club Speedway in NASCAR Cup Series machines.
