JR Motorsports Briefing: February 22

2/22/2012 | JRM Article |

The NASCAR Nationwide Series garage opened for the first time in 2012 Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway. As is customary each weekend, the JR Motorsports teams passed through technical inspections to verify that the Nos. 5, 7 and 88 cars were indeed legal before a pair of practice sessions occur on Thursday morning.

For Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Cole Whitt, Wednesday also meant a trip to the ESPN NASCAR studios set up at the Daytona Beach International Airport. There, Earnhardt and Whitt adorned their TaxSlayer.com fire suits for photos and green-screen shots ESPN will use throughout the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series season.
