MOORESVILLE, N.C. (July 19, 2022) — Wyatt Miller went west last week to race in the Restricted Micro-Sprint ranks and made quite a bit of noise, winning at Solomon Valley Speedway and sweeping the two features at Jefferson County Speedway. The young driver also placed second at Sweet Springs Motorsport Park and fourth at Red Dirt Speedway.
The 10-year-old son of Kelley Earnhardt Miller and L.W. Miller drove his No. 83 LubeZone/BRANDT restricted Micro Sprint to a fourth-place finish in the first race of the Mid-America Micro Sprint Week tour on Tuesday, July 12 at Red Dirt Speedway in Meeker, Okla. After qualifying fourth and winning his heat race, the next-generation racer recovered from an early spin to finish fourth.
The following night at Solomon Valley Speedway in Beloit, Kan., Miller drove his No. 83 machine to fast time in qualifying, finished second in his heat race and won the 15-lap main.
On Friday, Miller doubled up again, winning his heat and the feature at Jefferson County Speedway in Fairbury, Neb. on preliminary night, setting him up to challenge for the title the following day.
On Saturday, Miller again won his heat and the feature, topping Bryce Kujath and Cale Lagroon in the 15-lap main event to take the championship.
The young driver and his team capped the week in the Midwest with a second-place run in the Micro portion of the POWRi Midget Thunder in the Valley race at Sweet Springs (Mo.) Motorsports Complex. Miller placed third in his heat race and finished runner-up in the 20-lap Micro feature.
Back in North Carolina, Miller and his LubeZone team will return to Millbridge Speedway this week for competition in the Outlaw Kart division.
“This was a good week for our Lube Zone/BRANDT team,” said the younger Miller. “We were able to see some new tracks and get a chance to race with different competitors in four states. That’s really good experience for me. We were able to run competitively and get top-fives at tracks we’ve never been to.
