MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 28, 2025) – Connor Hall had high hopes of continuing his hot streak in the zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car series on Saturday night at Orange County Speedway, but fell victim to an early spin and finished 18th.
Hall, winner of two of the three CARS Tour LMSC events this season and current leader in the points, qualified his No. 88 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Chevrolet in the 14th position for the 125-lap main. Just five laps into the event, Hall spun after contact with Jake Bollman and dropped in the running order.
From there, it was a case of making up time and track position for Hall, who owns wins at New River All-American Speedway and Cordele Motor Speedway so far this year. Mini Tyrrell, second to Hall in points entering the race, was also involved in a crash and ended the night in the pits with terminal damage to his machine after placing 26th.
That tightens the point standings after four races, with Hall still in the lead but with a reduced margin heading to next week’s event at Ace Speedway.
The Virginia native had an issue during qualifying, putting the Bass Pro Shops driver 14th in the lineup. The early incident with Bollman dropped him in the running order. The resulting loss of track position put Hall and the No. 88 team further behind the eight-ball, but he rallied to 18th at the checkered.
Jared Fryar won the race over Kade Brown, Kaden Honeycutt, Layne Riggs and Ronnie Bassett Jr.
Next race for Hall and the JR Motorsports Late Model team is set for Ace Speedway this coming Saturday.

“I don’t really know what happened when I spun, but it killed our track position and it is so hard to get up through the field. I messed up qualifying on my end, I hate that I put us in that hole and was never able to dig out of it. I’m excited to go to Ace next weekend where both the JR Motorsports Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats team and I have historically run well.”
