MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 13, 2025) – It has been quite some time since JR Motorsports raced outside the United States.
On Saturday, the team will join the rest of the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the Chilango 150 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, Mexico.
The first international start for JRM came March 5, 2006 at the circuit, and Mark McFarland started 28th and finished 15th in the U.S. Navy Chevrolet.
Saturday’s event will see five JRM Chevrolets take to the same road course exactly 19 years, three months and nine days from McFarland’s—and JRM’s–initial international start.
International racing has been good to JRM. Road-course legend Ron Fellows scored a victory for JRM at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on Aug. 2, 2008, driving through a torrential downpour at the finish. The triumph was the third for JRM overall and came in the first NASCAR race in the rain.
