MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 15, 2025) – Connor Hall was in position to tighten the already-close points battle at the top of the zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car event on Saturday night at Virginia’s South Boston Speedway when a pair of incidents in the second half of the 125-lap feature pushed him down the order to 18th at the finish.
Despite the fact that point leader Landen Lewis was scored in fourth position, Hall trails by just 18 points heading into the Oct. 4 event at North Carolina’s Tri-County Speedway, the penultimate race of the LMSC season.
Hall, driving the familiar No. 88 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Chevrolet, started eighth on the racy Virginia oval and sought to earn another 2025 victory there following his triumph earlier in the summer in the opening round of the Virginia Triple Crown.
Early on, Hall played the waiting game, maintaining position and holding onto the lead pack. With 40 laps to go, the Virginia native battled with Lewis in the top five, seeking to close the gap to the points leader on home turf.
Lewis was forced to pit with a tire going down, leaving Hall with fifth place and just 35 laps remaining.
Over the remaining laps, caution flags slowed the action and allowed Lewis to recoup his lost track position. With 12 laps remaining and the action heating up, Hall was swept into a crash in Turn 1 that saw him pushed into the Turn 1 wall. After making repairs, Hall got back on track only to get swept into another crash in Turn 1, which relegated him to 18th position at the finish.
Kaden Honeycutt won the race over Connor Jones, Carson Loftin, Lewis and Mason Diaz.
Next action for Hall and the JRM Late Model squad will be Sept. 24 at Virginia’s Martinsville Speedway for the annual ValleyStar Credit Union 300. Hall enters the event as the points leader for the Virginia Triple Crown, having won the opener at South Boston and finishing second in the annual Hampton Heat at Langley Motor Speedway.
