MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 8, 2019) – Jason Keffer and Tyler Dohar put together solid performances in the seventh race of the eNASCAR Heat Pro League season on Wednesday night, with Keffer playing fuel strategy with his No. 7 Win Dale Jr.’s Ride Chevrolet into a solid fourth-place run in the PS4 event and Dohar earning a seventh-place finish in the XBOX competition in the No. 88 FilterTime Camaro. The finishes put the two-car JR Motorsports contingent solidly in the playoff standings with just one race to go. The duo sits fourth overall, 17 points off the lead.

The XBOX feature led off the night, with Dohar launching his No. 88 FilterTime Chevrolet from sixth position. As the draft formed up, Dohar stayed in the back half of the top 10 and rode there until pit stops began nine laps into the 45-lap event. As is his habit, Dohar stayed out when the leaders pitted and led two laps before hitting pit road himself two laps later. After shaking out 10th in the lineup following his stop, Dohar was still 10th when the competition caution waved with 28 laps remaining.

On the restart, Dohar was solidly in the draft when a crash erupted off Turn 2. The Ohio driver was caught up in the scrum and pushed into the inside wall off another car coming down from the top groove, which forced a return to pit road and he resumed the race in 11th with 21 laps remaining. Four laps later, he was the leader of a four-car draft at the tail and had moved to 10th with 11 laps remaining when the leaders went to pit road again. Dohar again stayed out and pitted the next time by, in tandem with the No. 3 machine. Rejoining in eighth place, Dohar held onto eighth until the final lap, when another huge crash ahead of him caused him to slow to avoid the carnage. He finished seventh on the night.

In the companion PS4 feature, also 45 laps in length, Keffer started ninth and came out of the gate strong. Hugging the low line around the Michigan oval, Keffer was up to second place just five laps in. He assumed the top spot four laps later when pit stops began to occur. Keffer held the top spot for two laps before hitting pit lane himself. Emerging back onto the track in second position, Keffer maintained position in the top five, staying in the draft and saving fuel for the end.

When the competition caution waved with 28 circuits remaining, Keffer was ninth on the restart. He began moving forward with 25 to go, advancing to sixth in just six laps. The leaders began to pit with 15 laps to go and Keffer rose to third place before returning to pit road himself. Losing just one position on the exchange, Keffer was fourth with 10 laps to go, locked on the low line and saving fuel. He rose to third when the leader pitted ahead of him two laps later and assumed the lead with five laps remaining when the No. 44 car gave up the lead for a splash of fuel.

Keffer, who was low on fuel himself, was still in front with two laps left when the No. 21 got a good run off Turn 2 and passed him for the lead. Keffer was second when he took the white flag and lost two spots to the pack on the way to the checkered flag, finishing fourth on the night.

Next up for the JRM team is a race at Daytona International Speedway on Aug. 21.
