MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 12, 2024) -- The friendly confines of Iowa Speedway were decidedly not so to the JR Motorsports team of Kaden Honeycutt and Briar LaPradd on Tuesday night, as both drivers were caught up in crashes late in the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series race on the virtual 0.875-mile oval. The event was the first series points race on the quick Midwest oval. (Watch the full race.)

Honeycutt, driver of the No. 8 FilterTime Chevrolet, started 19th in his heat race and rallied to finish 11th, which put him 22nd for the start of the 90-lap event.

Over the opening 66 laps, Honeycutt carved his way forward despite a tight handling condition until he spun off another car's nose in his left-rear quarter panel. The contact to the hood and subsequent loss of positions put him at the tail of the field after pitting to fix it. Restarting 39th, the Texas driver worked his way forward until he was swept up in yet another on-track incident. After another stop to fix damage, he restarted 33rd and was involved in a third crash on the green-white-checkered restart. He finished 31st.

LaPradd, like his teammate, struggled a bit in qualifying and started 15th in his heat race. A ninth-place finish slotted the Tennessee native in 18th for the start of the event. As the race began, LaPradd’s rear grip went away over the first 35 laps and he fell back to 30th in the order.

On lap 73, LaPradd was caught up in one of the many crashes and took some damage to the front end of the Ledford Billiard Supply/Race Face Digital Camaro. Settling back into 28th position, LaPradd was 29th until the last caution of the period set up the green-white-checkered finish. He joined Honeycutt as one of the cars caught up in the final crash and finished 37th.

Polesitter Steven Wilson won the race in a late battle with Parker White, while Graham Bowlin, Wyatt Tinsley and Zack Novak completed the top five. It was the defending series champion's third victory of the season.

In the team standings, the two-car JRM squad took a hit and dropped a spot to eighth, 104 off the lead. Honeycutt fell two spots to eighth in driver points, 75 behind leader Wilson. LaPradd lost four positions to 20th, 132 behind Wilson's total.

The eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series will race again on June 25 at the virtual Nashville Superspeedway.

Kaden Honeycutt, driver No. 8 FilterTime JR Motorsports Chevrolet team

"We took a hit in the playoff standings with our FilterTime Chevrolet tonight. We did take a hit there, but we are still very much in the fight as the season progresses. We missed the points in the heat race but felt good about what we had for the main. Getting spun in the early going didn't help as it put us back in the field, and we got caught in the late-race mess. We are determined to get a win for this FilterTime team at JRM."

Briar LaPradd, driver No. 88 Ledford Billiard Supply/Race Face Digital JR Motorsports Chevrolet team

"Once again, we struggled in qualifying in our Ledford Billiard Supply/Race Face Digital Chevrolet. Had some opportunities in the heat race and finished in the points. When the race started, we had rear-grip issues and fell back to 30th. As usually happens, late-race cautions were plentiful and we got caught in one of them. That's unfortunate, but I'm looking forward to Nashville in two weeks as we've had success on that track."
