All Things Automotive Josh Berry Late Model NASCAR News

Josh Berry continued on his quest for the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series championship, sweeping twin 60-lap Late Model features at Virginia’s Dominion Raceway and beating rival Peyton Sellers twice.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 28, 2020) – Josh Berry continued on his quest for the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series championship this past weekend, sweeping twin 60-lap Late Model features at Virginia’s Dominion Raceway. As a bonus, the Tennessee native topped Peyton Sellers in both races, further extending his advantage in the point standings.

Entering the weekend 20 points up on Sellers in Division 1, Berry notched his 14th and 15th victories in the twin-60-lap features on Dominion’s oval, with Sellers finishing second in each event by more than a second at the checkered.

In the first race, Berry started his No. 88 All Things Automotive/iRacing Chevrolet from second position and immediately began battling with Sellers, getting under the Virginia driver for position only to have the caution wave and wipe out the pass. On the restart, Berry chose the bottom at the cone, and fell back to third. Over the remaining laps, he was able to work past both Sellers and Doug Barnes for the lead, which he held to the finish. Barnes was third, with Mason Diaz and Conner Jones the rest of the top five.

In the second 60-lapper, Berry started from eighth position thanks to the inversion and set about picking off the seven cars in front of him. He accomplished that by the halfway point and led the remaining laps to pull the sweep over Sellers, with Daniel Silvestri, Barnes and John Goin finishing third through fifth.

Berry will double up again this weekend, running twin features at Langley (Va.) Speedway on Saturday and twin features at Southern National Motorsports Park on Sunday.

JRM’s Connor Mosack will return to CARS LMSC action this weekend at Florence (S.C.) Speedway for a Saturday event. Mosack sits fourth in series points, 22 behind leader Jared Fryar, with just two races remaining in the season. CARS Tour officials announced that the season-ending Old North State Nationals, which pays $30,000 to the winner, will be held at South Carolina’s Greenville-Pickens Speedway rather than Orange County (N.C.) Speedway due to ongoing pandemic regulations in North Carolina.

Josh Berry, driver No. 88 All Things Automotive/iRacing Chevrolet team

“We came up to Dominion once this year in August, and we just didn't run well at all. We worked on some things and came back up with a different package, and the All Things Automotive/iRacing Chevrolet was really good. Those guys up there are tough, so to go up there and beat them shows a lot about our program and team. I just really have to thank all our guys for working as hard as they have.”
