Track Specs: Florence Motor Speedway, .400-mile oval/75-lap feature
Berry’s finish: 1st
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 5, 2021) – Josh Berry took advantage of the off-weekend for the NASCAR Xfinity Series to compete at Florence (S.C.) Motor Speedway on Saturday, driving his No. 8 All Things Automotive/iRacing Chevrolet to victory in the 75-lap NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series feature.
After winning the pole in qualifying, Berry lined up from the top spot and was never headed, leading the caution-free event from green flag to checkered flag and finishing over a second ahead of runner-up Matt Cox. To open the season, Berry finished second at Florence behind Chad McCumbee after an epic five-lap shootout in the track’s Icebreaker event in February.
The 2020 NAAPWS champion earned his second consecutive victory on the season, following up last weekend’s win at Tri-County. Berry’s win on Saturday came over Cox and Zack Miracle, with Ryan Millington and Janson Marchbanks rounding out the top five.
Berry will race Friday night at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in the NASCAR Xfinity Series event. In 2019, the Tennessee native won the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 for Late Models, one of the biggest trophies available to a Late Model driver in the Southeast.
Josh Berry, driver No. 8 All Things Automotive/iRacing Chevrolet team
“It was nice to get a win at Florence after finishing second a couple of times. Our All Things Automotive/iRacing Chevrolet was really good, and it was a fun couple of weeks with my Late Model team. It’s important to me that we keep that program going strong like it has been. I’m really looking forward to getting back in the NASCAR Xfinity Series car for JR Motorsports at Martinsville on Friday night.”
