Kvapil Rallies to Sixth in Tri-County CARS Tour LMSC Battle

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 14, 2024) – Carson Kvapil raced his No. 8 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats & ATVs Chevrolet to a sixth-place finish in the 125-lap zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car division on Saturday night at Tri-County Speedway.

The 21-year-old driver, winner of the past two LMSC championships in the CARS Tour and the most recent winner of the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway, qualified his white No. 8 in the seventh position for the main event after focusing on turning the center of the corners at each end of the .400-mile track.

At the start, Kvapil settled into the top 10 and made laps, saving his tires for the end of the race on the fast oval. Moving up slowly, Kvapil was in the top five when the yellow flag waved to set up a green-white-checkered finish.

On the ensuing restart, Kvapil fired off from fifth and in the race to Turn 1, he made contact with the car ahead, which induced a spin. Per CARS Tour rules for drivers involved in a caution, Kvapil was sent to the rear of the field.

Despite the penalty, Kvapil was able to get all the way back to sixth in the remaining two laps and he would finish there at the checkered.

Connor Jones won the event over Jared Fryar, Brenden Queen, Landon Huffman and Chase Burrow.

Kvapil will make his final CARS Tour start of the season next weekend at North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway, as the Late Model Stock Car series will crown a champion in the season finale.
