Ready to Roll: Allgaier Ready for Another Daytona 500 Challenge

On Saturday, Justin Allgaier will race in the opening NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series event of the season at Daytona International Speedway.

On Sunday, he’ll race in the Daytona 500, having made the field in qualifying and taking care of his No. 40 Traveller Whiskey Chevrolet.

In qualifying on Wednesday, Allgaier made the race on speed, guaranteeing his position as one of the non-charter cars. Last night, the Illinois native took care of his Chevrolet and finished the second Daytona Duel race with a clean car.

After spending most of the race near the back of the pack to protect his No. 40 Traveller Whiskey Chevrolet, Allgaier led two laps during a chaotic pit sequence before eventually crossing the line in 20^th.

He will roll off for Sunday’s Great American Race in 40^th position, seeking to better his ninth-place finish a year ago in the first NASCAR Cup Series start for JRM.

“I am really looking forward to this weekend with both our BRANDT and Traveller Chevrolets,” said the 2024 NASCAR O’Reilly Series champion. “We had a lot of speed in the Duel last night, but we stayed around the back to make sure we kept our car in one piece. Greg (Ives, crew chief) and everyone on this team has built an awesome car and I can’t wait to see what happens this weekend.”

In last year’s Daytona 500, Allgaier stayed in the lead pack most of the day on the way to a ninth-place finish.
