Third-generation racer Wyatt Miller competed on Saturday in the weekly Late Model Stock Car feature at Tri-County Speedway (Granite Falls, N.C.) and the young driver made the most of it, recording an eighth-place finish.
Driving the No. 73 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet, Miller practiced and qualified sixth-fastest in the run-up to the 75-lap main, eventually finishing eighth behind winner Kaeden Ballos. The race featured just one caution, for a crash at the two-thirds mark, and Miller used the green-flag laps to master the tricky oval in the first of three straight races there.
Behind Ballos at the finish came Hudson Sharp and Domingo Mendez-Torres.
“We had an okay night at Tri-County,” Miller said after the event. “I completed all the laps and gained more seat time in the Late Model. Thank you to Bryan (team manager and crew chief Bryan Shaffer) and the JR Motorsports team for all of their hard work.”
Next action for Miller will be on May 16 at Tri-County.
