Zack Novak, the 2019 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series champion, comes to JR Motorsports iRacing team as a championship contender, seeking a second title following his 2019 triumph.

The 24-year-old Connecticut driver used a last-lap pass of Keegan Leahy in the season finale, giving him bookends on that season’s races. He had won the season opener and ended it with the champion’s trophy.

The year before, in 2018, Novak earned the eNASCAR IGNITE title for drivers 18 and under, giving him two rings in national iRacing competition.

This year, he comes to JR Motorsports, the team owned by NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt Jr. is an accomplished sim racer as well and features prominently in the development of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola Series from the start.

In 2025, Novak made the Championship 4 again and raced for the title again, eventually finishing fourth among the contenders. This year, Novak’s sights are set on sealing the deal at season’s end.

“It's an honor to be with JR Motorsports in this series,” Novak said. “I am so excited and thrilled and really just any word that I could use to describe being happy when I heard about the potential of this coming about. I talked to my family about it and they all agreed with me that, you know, this is just an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

Winning a championship in a series as competitive as the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series takes a lot of time and effort, he said.

“Winning a title at first is just a lot of hours and grinding,” he said. “You have to be very mentally involved. You can't really ever check out or anything like that. You have to be really in tune with the car and the building process, and making sure your runs are consistent and so on and so forth. So it's a lot of maybe not physical work, but a lot of mental work and very mentally draining. Being here I think it's just going to give me the utmost confidence to go win another championship and compete at the highest level.”

Sponsorship for Novak's effort this season comes from Ledford Billiard Supply and WasherTech.com.

The young driver has also been active in real-life racing, beginning as a youngster in quarter-midgets at Silver City Speedway in Meriden, Conn. and trying his hand on a national scale before switching to the sim side.
