Chevrolet unveiled changes for the 2019 Xfinity Series Camaro SS, which JRM will show off for the first time next February during Speedweeks at Daytona.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Nov. 5, 2018) – The Chevrolet Camaro SS that JR Motorsports will campaign during the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series has been revealed. Last Friday at Texas Motor Speedway, the new Camaro was unveiled with the help of JRM driver Justin Allgaier.

“We’re excited to unveil the new Xfinity Camaro SS,” Allgaier said after the introduction of the new 2019 Camaro SS. “For me, when you look at the production version of the car, it’s taking that pride on the race track of racing something that looks so much like the production vehicle. Everybody at Chevrolet has worked very hard, as well as the teams and NASCAR, trying to understand what it looks like moving forward with this new car. From the pictures, it looks beautiful, and I’m excited about it.

“Going for a championship this year, obviously we would like to cap that off with a win, and we get to look forward to driving the new Chevrolet Camaro SS in 2019.”

The Xfinity Series Camaro which debuted in 2012 was based on the fifth-generation Camaro SS, and the updates to the upper front fascia, fenders, hood and tail follow the styling cues for the all-new-sixth generation of the iconic street machine. One notable change is that the famed Bowtie logo is in the center of the grille, rather than the bumper bar as it is on the production version. For the purposes of the racing car and brand visibility, the decision was made to move the Bowtie logo higher.

“We always want to align our racing vehicles with what is available in the showroom,” said Jim Campbell, vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “The Camaro SS was updated for the 2019 model year. We can’t wait to see the Camaro SS on the track next February at Daytona.”

Chevrolet has been campaigning the Camaro SS in the NASCAR Xfinity Series since 2013, and the Camaro has earned 67 victories in 194 races since. That performance ranks third among Chevy nameplates that have competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
