Tyler Dohar rallied to finish runner-up on xBox while Jason Keffer brought home a top-10 effort on PS4 Sunday in the inaugural NASCAR Heat Pro League race at Charlotte.

Track Specs: 1.5-mile oval / 40 laps (double-header)
Dohar’s start/finish (XBOX): 7th/2nd
Keffer’s start/finish (PS4): 13th/10th

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 28, 2019) – Sunday’s inaugural eNASCAR Heat Pro League event at Charlotte Motor Speedway featured plenty of hard-fought battles and a never-give-up attitude that saw JR Motorsports drivers Tyler Dohar (XBOX) and Jason Keffer (PS4) overcome adversity on the way to strong finishes. It marks the first of 12 scheduled events for both the XBOX and PS4 gaming consoles.

Dohar was the first to take the track for the 40-lap inaugural event behind the wheel of the No. 88 FilterTime Chevrolet. Taking the green flag in seventh, Dohar was collected in the first incident of the day on the opening lap. Undeterred by the contact, Dohar persevered and found himself in the race lead by the time the competition caution was displayed on lap 20. Once back underway following the competition caution, Dohar continued to fight for position inside the top three while narrowly avoiding a slew of multi-car incidents. In the end, Dohar came within a car length of scoring the victory, ultimately taking the checkered flag in the second position.

Then it was on to the PS4 feature with Keffer, driver of the No. 7 Win Dale Jr.’s Ride Chevrolet. Keffer, who lined up for the second 40-lap event from the 13th position, faced an uphill battle throughout the opening 20 laps as damage sustained from unavoidable on-track incidents kept the Charlotte, N.C. native toward the back of the 14-car pack. Despite the early setbacks, Keffer pressed forward and took advantage of the restart following the halfway competition caution to drive into the top 10. The driver of the Win Dale Jr.’s Ride Chevrolet remained inside the top 10 throughout the final laps to take the checkered flag in the 10th position.

As a result of the pair’s finishes in the opening event of the eNASCAR Heat Pro League, JRM currently sits third in the championship standings (which pools both drivers points into a single team effort) with seven events remaining in the regular season before the four-event playoff begins in September.

Next up for Dohar and Keffer will be Auto Club Speedway on Wednesday, May 29.

Tyler Dohar, XBOX driver No. 88 FilterTime Chevrolet team

“I’m so happy with how today ended up. I just want to thank FilterTime for coming on board and for helping support us in this inaugural eNASCAR Heat race. To finish second, it was a good points day. I wanted that one position better but I’ll take P2. Jason (Keffer), my teammate, got 10th in his race, so that’s two top 10s on the day and that’s exactly what we wanted to do for everyone at JR Motorsports. So, thank you everyone for all of your support and we’ll be ready for the next one.”

Jason Keffer, PS4 driver No. 7 Win Dale Jr.’s Ride Chevrolet team

“Well we came home P10 but we had a lot better car than that. We just kept getting caught up in some stuff but it was pretty cool to see all the fans out there watching us race and it will get better as this league continues to go on. We get to do it again on Wednesday at Auto Club Speedway. I just wish we could’ve been able to put the Win Dale Jr.’s Ride Chevrolet in Victory Lane but I had such a good time and I can’t wait to get this season really going. Also, congratulations to my teammate Tyler (Dohar) on finishing second. Overall, it was a really good points day for us at JR Motorsports.”
