Josh Berry will compete in all three races this weekend at Dover International Speedway, including Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series event. It will indeed be a Triple Monster Challenge for the 30-year-old driver.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (May 14, 2021) - It's shaping up to be a monster weekend for JR Motorsports driver Josh Berry. The Tennessee native has made waves in his first season as a NASCAR Xfinity Series driver, winning at Martinsville last month and finishing a close second to teammate Justin Allgaier at Darlington last weekend.

The latest wave the 30-year-old will tackle is what is dubbed The Triple Monster Challenge, is three races in three days this weekend at Dover International Speedway, including Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series event on the 1-mile concrete oval.

Berry will drive the No. 41 Solid Rock Carriers Chevrolet for owner Bruce Cook in Friday's ARCA Menards Series, followed by Saturday's Drydene 200 for NXS cars in the No. 8 Tire Pros Chevrolet. Sunday's Drydene 400 for the Cup Series will see Berry astride the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet.

Berry was chosen by Spire's ownership group because regular driver Justin Haley is in the COVID-19 protocol and cannot compete this weekend. The deal came together yesterday, Berry said.

"It's all happened rather quickly," the 2020 NASCAR Weekly Series champion related. “To make my first Cup start...I hate the circumstances with Justin, but I'm incredibly grateful that they (Spire) thought of me. I'm excited to go and do a good job for them."

Berry originally put the deal together to compete in the ARCA race because he had never competed at the Monster Mile. This weekend's triple will give him plenty of experience.

“I'm obviously excited that I was able to put the ARCA deal together with Bruce Cook, and that will help build a few things and give me some more laps. I'm going to try to do the best I can."

It was just seven months ago that Berry found out he would drive for JR Motorsports in the NXS, following his run to the national weekly series title in Late Models. Since then, he's made eight starts for JRM, earning the Martinsville victory and runner-up at Darlington as well as a pair of top-10 finishes. He's led 103 laps in those eight races as well.
